    Monsterous Fashion

From the "I wish they made these now dept" come these cool mock horror shirts, adding funny captions to vintage horror pictures dates back to Famous Monsters magazine. So it's nice to see them getting a nod here but it's pretty obvious whoever wrote the catalog copy, wasn't a subscriber:

Which one is Dracula? Mom, did you write this one?

Annnnnnd... my mind is blown. Wow Brian, great find. I've been wondering for years about the Kong shirt and here you present that it was part of a group release. Cool cool cool. What year was this?

Not crazy about the blue and yellow color, but the designs are fantastic. If they had those now on black t-shirts I'd buy them

Those are groovey. If they came in black I would totally wear one.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

With all the signage on shirts today, they should definitely consider putting those back out. Nice!

I think it's 72, I'll have to dig it out again. I found this image about ten months ago, been saving it for October.

                      Hmmmm....

They're stirring some long forgotten memory.... I must've had one when I was a kid. It'd definitely be in character, but I don't remember one.

Phantom as Dracula kind of works for me. I had a friend who had the Remco mini-monsters and playset, but no Dracula for some reason. The Phantom subbed as the Count.

I would so wear these now.

They need to be short sleeves.

                            Ya keep hiding things, huh?

I'd love to know which catalogue too. '72 would be an interesting year for monster shirts. '71 was the last year Aurora made a change to the glow kits (they would continue to be released for several more) and Famous Monsters of Filmland magazine was still going, but it was before the AHI license kicked in.

Seeing these makes me think how cool it would be to have a MM Monster shirt! Maybe something to think about in the future?
