My G.I. Joe Adventure Team collection is expanding

I've been wanting to add to the stuff I had from childhood for a while now. I had a Man of Action, a Search for the Stolen Idol, Shark's Surprise and Jungle Survival playlets. I finally got the chance a couple weeks ago at the Great Texas G.I. Joe & Action Figure Expo.

    AT Land Adventurer

    AT Air Adventurer

Jungle Survival set. I had most of this stuff from when i was a kid. I was missing the belt, machete and compass. I was able to pick them up at the show to complete the set.

Secret Mission to Spy Island set is a recent eBay grab. The guy threw in the hat that was missing too (not pictured). All i need to complete it is a pair of red binoculars and another stick of dynamite.

And just for good measure..... the G.I. Joe Man of Action i had when i was a kid. He is what started all of this when I was 5 years old . I picked up a set of repro paperwork and decals to go with him at the show the other day. Can you believe i still had his original box!

Nice stuff. I love the AT Joes, they just take up too much space so I keep the collection to a minimum on display.

Awesome set! Yeah, there is nothing quite like the 70's Adventure Team line. Every time I see them or the artwork from the boxes, I think of Christmas time. They were such staples around our tree in the early to mid 70's. Great memories!

After Captain Action couldn't be found in stores anymore, my mom surprised me with a Talking AT Commander for Easter 1972.. THAT was cool.

Typically, I was expecting just a painted head figure or something, but it was brand new and actually seeing commercials for it was pretty heady for me at the time. We weren't rich or anything, so other than getting the AT Headquarters and the Spy Island set for the following Christmas, that was all I had, until I bought my own Air AT guy and MOA a few years later. That AT Headquarters served as my Mego batcave for a few years too..

I was able to find a minty, empty AT Commander box on eBay a few years ago for $100, so thanks to one of Oscar's acrylic display boxes (a hair re-do and repo inserts), it looks awesome..

I'd invest in the display boxes if I was you, just to keep the boxes protected. Mine's posted in the Gallery.

I love AT stuff. I have my HQ displayed in my toyroom w/ my original and repro AT guys. I'm glad you got some of your childhood grails, Bill.

                  Those look awesome. Great collection.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

Those Joes are great. I have some of the repro versions from 2007, but the real versions from the 70's seem so much cooler. Nice collection.

Those are fantastic! This was such a special line. Kids today don't know what they are missing.

Coincidentally, I just put a review up on my blog for the Land Adventurer earlier today before finding your post!
