    1978 Milton Bradley Electronics Catalog

In 1978, Milton Bradley who had already been known for board games for well over 100 years, brought the world some inventive and memorable electronic offerings in the form of Simon and Star Bird.

While primitive by today's standards in the late 70s, these were high tech and hours of fun.

As a kid I had Pocket Simon, (and used it till it died). And I found Super Simon almost 20 years ago. (needs new bulbs). And I also have a later game from MB Electronics called "Omni". It's gigantic! It's like a quiz show game for 4 people, and uses 8 track tapes. A little more sophisticated than 2XL (but not by much). I have about 5 games for it. There's even a Sesame Street games, and overlays for the panel for kids. I remember my dad bought one of these at a closeout sale in '83. The whole family loved it!

'Cos I believe, I believe that I do,
Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine true."

We still have a Simon and its sitting out in the Living Room as I type. My 7 and 9 year old are having fun with it although one of the lights does not always work!
Too many toys. Not enough space!

          Cool.
Always wanted Electronic Battleship, but we only had the normal version.

Great memories! I always loved the electronic games, no matter who made them. I still have a working Merlin, and the same football and basketball hand held games by Mattel. When I get in a nostalgic mood, I play them.

              Hmmmm....

Star Bird was total awesome. Weird bit: the one in the catalog is different from the one I had as a kid. It looks a bit different, and the catalog one has the upright fins attached to the body. On the one I had, the upright fins slid off and were tiny spaceships.

We had Simon and the Electronic Battleship (still have the EB). I always wanted the Star Bird but never got it.
