    1977 Marx Ready Gang Catalog

In 1977, Marx Toys launched the Ready Gang a beautiful line of 9" action figures from the old west with little to no back story (seriously are these guys outlaws for good guys?) and it quietly flopped in the market place.

It's a shame as the figures are not only attractive but well made, nowadays I get an email every once in a while from people convinced they've found a rare Lone Ranger action figure and it's always a figure from this well made but largely unknown series.

Talk about bad timing releasing a western line when sci-fi was going to hit it big with a film called STAR WARS in may 1977 then 1978 the toy shelves were changed by Kenner with there little 3 3/4 inch STAR WARS line of toys had this line came out in 74 or 75 it would have done a lot better

Hmmm. Interesting. You discovered a figure line from the 70's I had NEVER heard of. I would like to see the bodies on those figures. They look like they sit on an old Ideal body. Anyone have one of these that can confirm?

I didn't know about the playset. How easy is it to find?

I had the Sundown Kid and I agree he was a great figure and blended in perfectly with the Lone Ranger line.

Were they released overseas? They might have had a better shot.
