The Intruders: Strong Men from Another World

How can you not show the Intruders some love . This was an eBay grab from a few weeks ago. Here's a link to a blog entry over at Plaid Stallions about these guys.

        Neat!

I'm hoping to snag some of the new proper sized 8" Mego bods so's to make a team of these guys. SSSOOOOOOO weird....

As a kid I thought it was interesting how much the Intruder's outfit looked like the Super Joe light setup. Like Joe used reversed engineered Intruder technology to make it. (They DID have a special vehicle for rounding up the Intruders.... maybe there's a lab somewhere under the Pitt filled with dead, dissected spce cavemen?)

          Cavemen midgets from outer space!

Easily one of the dumbest toys ever created, but I had them both as a kid, and loved them.

So much of the 1/6 Joe stuff was hilariously undersized. Tiny tanks, abominable snowmidgets, minuscule mummies, tiny ferocious beasts, etc...

I still have my original from childhood intact. I remember when he and Bulletman came out. I thought it was an interesting twist on the line. Loved them both and both survived my childhood. They stand proudly in my collection.

Getting into pre-'82 GI JOE recently, I just found out about these guys and all the other weirdo figures Hasbro added to the line. If I saw these at a Flea Market, I would never guess they were from GI Joe.

I like them. I want to get a Mike Powers too.

May be a dumb toy but they did market it well.....I needed him to destroy Eagle eye joe, Bulletman and Atomicman

I will always have a soft spot for the Intruders. As a kid, I received the Big Trapper from my grandparents for Christmas, so of course I needed an Intruder. My parents made a deal with me, if I were to give up my security blanket, they buy me one. So, I weaned myself off of it and was thrilled to death to get one about a week after the blanket hit the trash. No joke, maybe 2 days after I got it, my ham-handed younger brother decided to test his durability limits. The Intruder was not a very durable figure, and his arms snapped right off.

About 10 years ago, I bought one off of eBay. I had him on my shelf for a while, but eventually I had to let him go. Whatever hole in my life I was hoping to fill with him just wasn't happening. He's currently buried somewhere in the depths of a closet waiting for me to feel the tug of nostalgia again. It will happen, and someday I will forgive him for being an absentee toy in my childhood. But not today. Not today.

My brother and I had both of 'em; I always thought the silver one looked like a young Arnold Schwarzenegger myself...

"It's sad that governments are chiefed by the double tongues. There is iron in your words of death for all Comanche to see, and so there is iron in your words of life. No signed paper can hold the iron. It must come from men. The words of Ten Bears carries the same iron of life and death. It is good that warriors such as we meet in the struggle of life... or death. It shall be life."

I just noticed this commercial and all of the other AT ads are super clear. Did someone with access to the originals get these remastered? They look great!

Like Atomic Man was a ripoff of the Bionic Man, I always assumed Intruder was a knock on 6MDM's Bigfoot. The bearded face always had a Andresquatch look to me.

More than likely, the beardless Intruder was the original prototype for something and it was reapropriated. Maybe a new version of the pygmy gorilla?
