I bought it. I will most likely not resell any of this stuff. I'm going to clean and restore it for my personal collection.

Any help/advice would be great, as far as what I'm going to need.

I've had a difficult time finding the "one stop" website for GI Joe. I too am just learning about vintage GI Joe myself. The AT stuff from the 70's is something i want to start collecting. I read a good book a while back on the history of GI Joe called "GI Joe: The Complete Story of America's Favorite Man of Action" by John Michlig and i just recently bought a copy of what is said to be the definitive book on GI Joe collecting called "Collectible GI Joe: An Official Guide to His Action-Packed World" by Derryl Depriest. This one can get pricey but luckily i was able to score a copy that was less than pristine, yet acceptable and in very readable condition on eBay for $22.50. It's got pics in it of every vintage GI Joe item from the 60's and 70's that was put out supposedly. Anyway, just thought i'd share a little of what i've found out lately as i've tried to further my knowledge of this line. Here are the links to the website i've found to be most helpful so far:

          YEAH.. $50's an AWESOME PRICE.

If I was still collecting, I would have grabbed them for that price easily. I've got my 16 or so figs (mix of PH and AT..), I'm just fine as is.

Yes, I had John Michlig sign my FAO Astronaut boxset (he's here in Milwaukee..). LOVED his 'Complete Story' book.. The Depriest book is excellent for NICELY-done color photos.

Scrap the knockoff stuff, clean up the heads and put those troopers in some decent vintage sets, and you're SET.

There is a GI Joe message forum that can help with any questions called The Trenches:

Did Action Pilots come in red hair? All the ones I see online w/ Golden Rod jackets are blonde.

It seems all hair colors were random.

Yeah, that's a decent buy for $50. The prices are pretty low these days for common stuff like this but the rarer pieces go for more. There was a time when people would've dropped $150 without blinking for these guys.

I think $50 is more in line.

Only one has the patent number and he is the most beat (not shown in the last image). I'm guess the Action Solider outfit (which is a later one so I've found out) belonged to him, but I have it on a '64 Joe w/out the number.

I need a pair of boots and I'd also like to complete the Marine w/ his belt and gun (mine is broken and has no strap) and also complete the Sailor outfit, maybe throw it on the figure w/ the patent.

Aside from paint wear on the faces/hair and the body cracks, they don't look too bad. I'm going to wash the outfits to make them look a bit better. I really don't care for flaws in the bodies, as nobody sees them anyway when clothing are on them.
