That is cool. I didn't even know there was a set of Legend of the Lone Ranger reels. I actually like the movie.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...
I could never resist a viewmaster are reals when I find 'em. Problem is they are so in demand (reels especially) Its hard to keep them when people start offering soo much money.

I have loads of these things! I have a classic set for myself at home (of old talkies and standard reels), and a newer set for my class at my school. They love them too! My classics have cool titles like 60s Batman, Flipper, SMDM, Laugh-In, Mod Squad, Star Trek (cartoon and live action), and lots more.
"Do you believe, you believe in magic?
'Cos I believe, I believe that I do,
Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine true."
I still collect View-Master reels, too.
I have a pretty big collection now.
I only go for the ones based on cartoons, comic books, movies, TV shows, etc., not the scenic world location ones.
Still need a few of the vintage Marvel packs, like Thor, Iron Man, Spider-Woman, etc.
Those are so cool. I'd love to seed pics of the monster reels. I remember having the King Kong and Walt Disney World reels.
a few people have nicely scanned in view master reels. Not that difficult to do if you own a scanner that does photographs and especially if it offers the option to scan photo negatives as well (most do this nowadays)
After the scan there is a PC tool called "reelTool" and here is what it does:
"ReelTOOL was created for View-Master Personal Camera owners. The ReelTOOL software allows you to easily convert your own View-Master compatible reels into popular stereo image file formats. Reels that you've made with your View-Master Personal Camera can now be digitally
archived and shared with friends, family, and other 3D enthusiasts!
ReelTOOL makes it both fast and easy for you to digitally archive your View-Master Personal Reels! The software automatically extracts the stereo image pairs from your scanned reel images and saves them in any of several digital stereo image file formats. Doing this type of image extraction and conversion manually, without ReelTOOL, would be very time consuming and
difficult."
I love viewmaster stuff. Love it even more that I can preserve them

I love these things. I especially like the Looney Tunes and Peanuts ones where they used the 3-D sculptures to tell the stories.
Those were the BEST. The Fairy Tales one is one of the oldest. I think. I think GAF went the distance on those by using sculpted charactors instead of flat illustrations!
