What cool stuff could you make from Legos?

Ok, and I'm not talking about those "Lego Systems". I mean different lengths of brick pieces to be assembled to look like something cool.

When I was about 16, we had just seen "Return of the Jedi" and my younger half brother, then age 6, was obssessed w/ the Ewoks. One day we were messing around w/ his Legos, and out of nowhere, I constructed something that looked really close to a SpeederBike. He was thrilled! After that, he couldn't take his Legos out w/o begging me to make that for him. And then, when his friends would come over to play, he'd want me to make one for them. I finally had to tell him if he told anyone else I could do this, I would have to start charging them. Well, that was the end of that. So I just made them for him. I can't remember how I did it. But it was kinda cool.

Did you have a knack for making anything from plain ole Legos?

As a kid, I really dug Spaceketeers/Starzinger, but of course they never had toys on this side of the ocean, so i made similar style ships out of Lego and just used Star Wars guys like Boba Fett and Luke in his Tie Fighter outfit.

I use to make little space ships, whole fleets of them , just to blow them up with a home made Death Star.

I remember making Star Trek ships that my Enterprise Model would encounter. I also remember when Battlestar Galactica came out I tried to make the Galactica out of the Lego bricks I had. I didn't have enough to make it too well, but I remember I kept it assembled for awhile.

I made crude super hero action figures after Mego disappeared and before Super Powers arrived.

My grandparents got me one of those Lego Systems set when I was 6 or so. It had instructions for making lots of different large trucks. They were a bit over my head at the time, but man, I had fun doing my own stuff!

My favorite was a motorcycle I made for my Secret Wars Captain America. I didn't have the Turbo Cycle yet, and the Reb Brown movies convinced me that Cap needed wheels. So I made them! Of course it was all red, white and blue!

You guys are KILLING me with the Legos! I've been fighting the urge for years; but between that customizing book, and this.... it's getting tougher!

Well I enjoy building a lot of things and my favourites are not the most popular, like the SMDM house or the Forbidden Planet speeder. But of course I always love building some Star Wars customs

I did. That's the problem. The urge to start a rampant army of Lego is getting tough to resist; and I'm TRYING to resist! I think if I ever found an affordable "Galaxy Explorer I'd be doomed....
