Great question (and I think I asked it once). Even though I own more Matchbox, I like HotWheels better b/c they have cool track accessories and Matchbox has playsets."Do you believe, you believe in magic?
'Cos I believe, I believe that I do,
Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine true." -
Hot Wheels for me! Just recently revisited my small collection from childhood. Now i want to collect them again. At least they're only about a buck each

Matchbox. Several years back I was actively collecting packaged examples of stuff I had as a kid. Unfortunately the woman I was dating wanted me to get rid of my "stuff" and instead of dumping her...I complied. :( What can I say? The sex kept me a slave. Lesson learned, and I eventually moved on.
I did keep one of them...the first one I remember my folks purchasing for me when I was small...the forklift.
Peace,

Matchbox had springs in their tires. I remember having these 2 when I was a kid:
MATCHBOX LESNEY #69 TURBO FURY 1975 SUPERFAST | eBay
MATCHBOX LESNEY #39 CLIPPER ROLA-MATICS SUPERFAST 1974 | eBay
The Clipper had these 2 "pistons" that would go up and down in the back of the car....used to LOVE that car."When not too many people can see we're all the same
And because of all their tears,
Their eyes can't hope to see
The beauty that surrounds them
Isn't it a pity".
