Great question (and I think I asked it once). Even though I own more Matchbox, I like HotWheels better b/c they have cool track accessories and Matchbox has playsets.

Hey Bill, PM if you are interested in any Hot Wheels. I have a "few" I can part with.

I probably had more Matchbox than Hot Wheels as a kid. I do still have them all and the cases I kept them in.

Matchbox. Several years back I was actively collecting packaged examples of stuff I had as a kid. Unfortunately the woman I was dating wanted me to get rid of my "stuff" and instead of dumping her...I complied. :( What can I say? The sex kept me a slave. Lesson learned, and I eventually moved on.

I did keep one of them...the first one I remember my folks purchasing for me when I was small...the forklift.

                  Peace,

                  Chip

Matchbox. They had more military vehicles.

Sorry, but I was totally into their Marvel and DC super-hero cars.

Matchbox had springs in their tires. I remember having these 2 when I was a kid:

                        MATCHBOX LESNEY #39 CLIPPER ROLA-MATICS SUPERFAST 1974 | eBay

The Clipper had these 2 "pistons" that would go up and down in the back of the car....used to LOVE that car.

I think Matchbox had some cool sci-fi themed vehicles during the mid-late 70's.

Was it Hot Wheels that had that space-age van where you could look inside and see some Force Commander dudes driving the vehicle?
