I would have taken Kristy home too. In fact I did. For $25 I would have taken another one home too. Thanks for the pics, that was fun...I hope you will keep photographing when you go to these places.

With the whole Trek franchise is in a slump you'll never have a problem completing your collection; with very few exceptions. At these prices you can get all the characters you missed out on the first time around. Before I went unemployed I managed to find quite a few of the 9" characters I was missing at insanely low prices. Also I had some of the best 5" sculpts enlarged to Mego size for customs.

If they had not decided to stop making Trek and start making Simpsons they could have made figures right into Enterprise. I bet they still would have been making classics at the same time. The new film was a success and Playmates fumbled the ball but I don't think Trek really appeals to kids anymore.

The hardest figure to find is the Warp Factor Tribbles O'Brien. At the time it was released Hoarders snapped them all up and were charging $35 for them. I saw one on eBay last year for $250.00. In both cases I just let it go. They're not going to get that $$$ outta` me-probably not out of anyone in this market, for 1 figure. They can eat it.

Wow, I envy anyone with a toy show to go to. They had a few in Lexington back in the 90s, but they just couldn't rival the flea markets that were more popular, and brought in more dough. Now they don't even have those!!!

I'm glad that I do not go to these things when they come up here, because I would not be able to control myself and I'd wind up with 1) A house I could not walk around in and 2) no money for said cramped house
            It's all good!

I'll plan on going to the Kane County show in March (April..?) this year. I have great memories in taking my 'once-young' niece and nephew so many years ago. Even today (when I'm not in Kuwait for another year-long deployment..), we love getting in a car and going down there..

Hopefully I'll have a hundred or so to take with me for spending.

I still like the Playmates and Galoob lines, and grab a figure off eBay if I'm in the mood. Customizing figures are really easy with 'em, especially adding to my ST-TMP crew, like making a Chekov and Scotty from Sulu and Spock bodies, respectively.

I only wished the Playmates had better poseability - The leg articulation introduced in the Voyager line was a HUGE improvement..!! It's tough to pose a figure when they don't actually sit 'bow-legged'..

I know whatcha mean by how Star Trek figures are turning up everywhere. They really are. The listings grow and grow in my city's Craigslist.
