"Beautiful Crissy has beautiful hair that grows..." lol.
Kind a neat semi-forgotten toyline that just screams 70s mod style.
Crissy and her friends gimmick was a knob on their backs that made their long ponytails retract when you turned it and you could make it long again by pushing the release button and pulling the hair back out. The mechanism that did all this was actually pretty complicated and not to mention sturdy. The dolls had to be really abused to bust it and generally still work to this day.
Crissy never became as iconic as a lot of other 70s toys but was pretty popular in her day for a couple of years. One thing to look out for, girls combed the heck out of their hair and it can be challenging to get them with really nice hair.
Crissy (Second version with shorter hair. The 1969 version had hair to her feet) and Crissys cousin Movin' Groovin' Velvet.

Anyone else remember them? I remember reading HardyGirl has a nice collection of these.
