yeah it's getting as bad as COA for anything signed or limited. In some cases is harder to find things not graded.

I just saw an AFA graded Aurora Robin model kit from 1966.

Suddenly AFA are experts on vintage model kits.

              Suuuuuure they are.

1967 PLANET OF THE APES JIGSAW PUZZLE AFA ENCASED RARE - (eBay item 320178848179 end time Nov-11-07 18:52:17 PST)

That Gilligan's Island graded box is just the EMPTY BOX and ONE PACK. There are no packs inside the box!!!

To be fair, AFA tried to set up a subsidiary called Random Crap Authority, but RCA was already trademarked.

The fact that the buyer is an idiot does not preclude the seller from being an idiot as well. Give an idiot money and he's still an idiot.

I'm sure the seller knows someone and gets this stuff graded cheap. Just the sheer volume of stuff he has graded leads me to believe this.

It's the only thing I can think of too, otherwise that would be some serious money he'd be wasting. I guess it would be hard to turn down money if some idiot sends you anything to grade, but it would be nice if AFA at least attempted to show some integrity for once (doesn't the "AF" stand for "action figure", which normally wouldn't include things like cards and puzzles??)
