I just received the Infinity 4-pack today as well as the Galactic Holiday Edition. The figures themselves, as well as the retro-styled packaging on the Infinity set is top-notch. But I'm a little disappointed that they aren't bendies like the Colorforms originals and even more disappointed that they aren't original scale. I might have missed details about their size in earlier web articles about them, but certainly not from the Store Horsemen order pages I ordered from -- they weren't there. Sorry about the grumbling. I was looking for a similar joyful experience to the one I had when I first received a brand new EMCE Star Trek figure -- in other words, it really was like you could go back in time and get the same thing (or damn near the same thing) again.

It didn't happen with these. Still, there's always hope!

Wow... These are seriously pretty cool... How'd I miss this post till now? I love creatures monsters and alien toys, and these are right up my alley... I've never heard of this line, new or old, so I'm definitely gonna check this stuff out... Thanks...

Thank you for posting the pix and information. I've been wondering about ordering these but wasn't sure about the "scale" of the figures and articulation. You're post has cleared up a lot of my questions about the new Outer Space Men.

Does anyone know if they are planning on making the entire original figures? And the Outer space men figures that never made it to stores? Or are they likely waiting to see how this first release sells?

I think they look pretty cool. Yet here we are in 2011 and they couldnt match them to the originals made in the 60's? OR did they not want to? The original wires did crack over time.

            Who else ordered these?

The new Inferno and Metamorpho figures are from the unreleased World of the Future series. The next wave of figures will be Commander Comet, Mysterion (unreleased in original line) and two additional unannounced figures.

From what I've read the plan is to do all the original Outer Space Men and unreleased World of the Future figures and maybe some new characters based on new or unused designs.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

As was said they are releasing 2 unreleased figures per wave, it seems.

I ordered a set just for nostalgia's sake, still waiting for it to arrive (though I had to write to storehorsemen to get them to actually ship my order, they seem pretty slow there). I have all the originals from the 1960s, but I figured I get these as they included the unreleased aliens, too. I would be more enthusiastic about them if they were bendies like the originals, and the same size- rather than these tiny 3 inch figures. Really disappointed they didn't go the bendy route.

Today I received both the Galactic Holiday set and the Infinity Edition set. The Holiday figures come header-bagged and the Infinity Edition are on beautifully designed cards. The cards appear to be "collector friendly" so the figures can be removed and replaced without damage to any of the packaging. I love the design and execution of these figures and I look forward to future releases from Four Horsemen!

So does this Metamorpho character explain why Mattel now calls the DC hero Rex Mason on their packaging?

Sean - I'm bothered that they didnt go the bendy route as well....meh...but they still look very cool. I love how they retained their package art - all of those (original) shots were taken by Mr. Birnkrant in his loft!

This line has always amazed and fascinated me, though I could never splurge on the originals. I really need to get off my duff and order these - I need them badly!!

Here is a bit for the serious OSM fans:
(It might sound odd, but this piece of music here has always been a favorite...it's vintage Space Mountain music from what I recall..Dan should have given props to Mel as well as the 4H...)

                      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B1OD9_TCt1s

..And a two-part video that Mel himself made a while back to promote the line to the Four Horsemen:
(The scene when Mel opens that drawer revealing the OSM 'masters' nearly makes my heart stop! )

BTW...Watch the video of the Horsemen's display at SDCC...they reveal a few more characters, including Commander Comet! I REALLY hope that we get all 13 characters, and hell, it would be beyond great if Mr. Birnkrant collaborated with the 4H and created NEW characters - Just look at some of Mel's recent sketches!

Ordered mine in mid December from Storehorsemen.com. Still haven't received them. Sent emails, only one response telling me it would be sent out before Christmas. I guess if I don't receive them soon then I will file a claim with PayPal.

After one month of waiting, several unanswered emails to FourHorsemen/StoreHorsemen inquiring about my order, I finally got it my 4 OSM today.

All the emails I sent yielded one response last week saying they "lost" my order and would send it out by last Friday (why they didn't bother replying to all the other emails I sent I don't know).

Anyway- got them today, and they are pretty cool, though I wish they were larger. Love the idea of the psuedo-repro packaging but some cards they sent me were nowhere near mint- kind of scratched.

I won't be ordering from StoreHorsemen again, too much hassle.
