1969 Toys R Us Toy Circular

Here's another wonderful Toy Newspaper Circular from the good people at Toys R Us, this time it's from this weekend 41 years ago (ok I timed that part).

It's a cool trip back to the toys of yester year and while some things have changed, others really haven't all that much.

Lots of memorable classics such as G.I. Joe, Barbie and the ever popular Fisher Price Little People.

WOW! I had NO idea that Toys R Us started back then! I was a Lionel Playworld guy and I didn't hear of Toys R Us until it moved into the neighborhood in the 80's...

I got a black talking Drowsy for my 3rd birthday that year. I found a minty working one on Ebay a few years ago. I got a Lite Brite for Xmas when I was 5.

I got that GI Joe shark and diving suit set for Christmas that year, even though I was a bit young for it.

A friend of mine had the Hot Wheels supercharger, a thing that would propell your cars around the track. Kind of cool, but we always ended up setting up the track to race them down a hill.

Love the educational toys. Seems they have more toys back then that were healthy to kids than today.

I picked up (even then) old Battling Tops games in college and it provided for some awesome drinking games! The only issue was that the adult strength pull spun the tops with such velocity that half the time they'd rocket right our of the ring the second they made contact with other.

I forgot that game existed. That was on my wish list for awhile, must have been very early 70's. My brother had that chemistry set and the Visible Man model. I like that kid in the Lego ad. Looks like Godzilla is going to knock down a building
                  It's all good!

I think they said TRU has been around since the 40s.
