? I think I'm misunderstanding this comment. 12" GI Joe was about as successful as a toy line can get. 12" KISS Megos sold extremely well too. The 12" Mego Heroes and the 12" Kenner Star Wars characters sold well enough that I'd consider both lines successful as well. Did you just mean that the 12" Captain Action line has never been successful?
Nostalgia just ain’t what it used to be.

Wow, that's impressive. I'm totally getting one of those.

It's odd though that Cap is missing his belt in the packaged sample and the head almost looks like a mask.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

            What? No webtanks?

Very, very cool!! I really dig the packaging and the new costume combines the best of both worlds, old and new.

I am trying to imagine a CA Thor. First time to do a hero with long hair. I wonder how they will approach the problem for the mask. Rooted hair on the mask? Sculpted? Very interesting.

If they could figure out a way to make a Hulk, my son would explode.

Of course I'm excited about this, but I have some reservations.

For all of the talk about a new headsculpt, what you see in the photos is a PM Diamond exclusive head from 1998 married to an unknown body. That variant had fully painted eyes as we see here. Where's Cap's belt?

The Spidey head looks like it came from the 2002 12" removable mask figure from Toy Biz, just repainted. It's also too small to fit over the CA head shown.

If these prototypes are this rough, there's no way we'll see product in 2010. Maybe that's a typo, and Marx means fall 2011. I hope they stick to the comics look, and not the modern film's.

I've got a buddy who's at NYCC, and he's going to try to get some more detailed info.

He already got the Castaway exclusive set for me.

The more I look at this, the more convinced I am that they are using swappable heads instead of masks. ball joint on top of the neck...pop off Cap...pop on Spidey.

I guess we'll have to wait and see to be sure!?

The Spidey mask looks like it was lifted from the original movie 12 inch figure.

I hope that's not the case, as it would be such a radical departure from CA's roots. Swappable hands is one thing, but CA has always changed personas by donning a mask.
