I think it's a pretty cool sign of the times that the apes aren't supposed to be Cornelius and Zira but Caesar and Lisa, now that's progress. What kid wanted to be Charlie Brown? I spent my life avoiding being him.

Something about Snoopy creeps me out. And those troopers don't look quite right either.....more like a troopers outfit from the "adult section."

What I remember about these costumes was the point at which, instead of trying to make the costume look like the character, like the great Apes costumes from this ad, the companies just started putting a picture of the character on the front, like the Charlie Brown here. When I got my Cylon costume in 78, I was very disappointed to get it home to find that it just had a big picture of the Cylon with the Battlestar logo on it. More like an advertisment for the show. Grownups just didn't get it. Very lame.

Those are great. I was 8 that year and definitely remember having that Batman costume.

The Lucy Peanuts costume looks dreadful...It looks like a Elvis mask with a Charlie Brown face and a long dress no less.

No idea who I was for Halloween in '76. I know in '77 or '78 I was a Stormtrooper. Okay,I had a Stormtrooper mask and a gray hoodie. Don't ask me how anyone came up with that idea.
