    LJN Toys for 1975

Founded in 1970 by Jack Friedman, LJN was one of the 1970s more successful toy companies, offering a mix of nicely made licensed products and some lower cost "house brand" items.

1975 saw the company in full swing with hot TV licenses such as "The Rookies" and "Emergency!" as well as Petite, their attempt to capture the fashion doll market and "Mr. Action", their version of G.I. Joe.

I don't think I ever saw a yellow jacket on an Emergency! figure before, interesting.

I'm sure emergency Ian will have some info but odds are that is a hand made prototype for the promo lit. I never saw a long coat for emergency either as a kid when i bought more emergency stuff than anything till star wars or as a collector.

I always loved the LJN guys. My Emergency and Rookies figures stand side by side with my mego's (literally).

As a kid, I had no idea who Roy Desoto was so I threw a pair of red shorts on him and called him Clint McCallum.

I think those Mr. Action accessories are pretty cool, and the Rookies and Emergency.

Wow, that cop car and fire vehicle are really cool! I'm not that familiar with these lines and was unaware they existed.

BTW, that dog house-shaped record player would have been a must have for me back in the day.

The LJN vehicles seem several steps above Mego's 8" efforts. Imagine if Mego had made the 8" Batmobile with that level of detail!

I don't remembering seeing those Mr Action toys as a kid. They look really close to actual GI JOE sets.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

those mr action sets look like direct rip offs of the GI Joe sets. the training tower is really close.
