    Tin Can Alley

Picked this awesome game up at a church sale this weekend for $3--Tin Can Alley from the late 70s. Line up the Dr Pepper cans and shoot them via a light gun that triggers a part on the back of the stand that knocks them over. I love the Chuck Connors endorsement here--late 50's/early 60s TV star still milking his Rifleman days some 20 years later.

Anyway, this game is a lot of fun and I don't remember it at all. Anybody have this one back in the day?

Very popular around these parts. Used to love the commercials too. From what I understand the set you have with Chuck on the packaging, and the realistic colored rifle is somewhat rare. They switched to a yellow rifle for a bit, then swapped out the rifle for a pistol in the late seventies, and made these toys into the eighties. I believe Jasman toys brought a version of it back recently as well with a cartoony looking pistol (the original looked like a .357 Magnum) and generic pop cans.

Never had this one, but I do remember the unsatisfied yearning. It looked so cool!

        Matt, does it work?

Yeah, Bill it works...well sort of. The gun emits a light but I can't get the gun to actually activate the mechanism that knocks the can off. I used a flashlight to test the thing and it worked so I'm thinking maybe something is a bit off.

This toy is pretty cool, I've been messing with it all morning!
