    Retro Playgrounds Volume 5

Time to travel back in time and take a look and see what recreation drug use and what appears to be a complete lack of concern for child safety can produce with volume five of Retro Playground Equipment.

It's whacky, weird and I totally miss this stuff.

These things could've been as safe as they could get, as a kid I always sought out the danger. I'm surprised I didn't get into more trouble as I did

I guess they don't make metal slides anymore? I remember in the hot months, you could burn the **** out of yourself on those things.
I do miss the wood and metal playground pieces. The ones I see today just don't look right to me.

The Bell Bouy IS just down right dangerous. It would only be a matter of time before a kid fell from that height.

And then not much longer after that that a teen drinking in the playground with friends on a Friday night did the same.

man, every time these playground catalogs get posted I freak out because most of the parks in my area had these sets... with the exception of some of the space stuff.

I played on them in the late 80's and some still stand i believe. at least an eagles nest here, and an animal buckaroo there.

hell, I have a penguin buckaroo sitting in my apartment right now, I just have to figure out a stand of some sort for it.

A friend of mine and I were "racing" on a couple of those buckaroos up in North Carolina just last weekend. They were in a playground outside of a Moe's (burrito restaurant) that also had a giant checkerboard with checkers the size of tires. It only occurred to me just this minute that we probably looked odd playing on the playground. It didn't occur to me at all at the time.
