        Kenny, indeed.

One of the few QB's to ever rock the full 'stache.

As a Steelers Fan, I've always had a natural hatred for the Bengals. I remember as a youth watching a Steelers Bengals game when one of our defenders got a hold of Anderson's two-bar facemask and twisted it about 180 degrees. It was one of the ugliest injuries I've ever witnessed, and that's including the Theismann injury.
I was glad to see Kenny walk away from that. I think the 'stache saved him.
You are transparent; I see many things... I see plans within plans.

I still have 3 from childhood: Steelers, Cowboys, and Broncos. I've had to restring them as the rubber bands rotted. I wish someone besides me would repro the facemasks. I only have 1 intact, the other two cracked in half.
Expectation is the death of discovery.

As a kid I never did get to order one through the catalog, but did pick up a couple (one loose one minty boxed) of Steelers through ebay. Here is Bradshaw handing off to Rocky Bleier:

And then making a solo appearance at my Steelers vs. Cardinals SuperBowl Party (which included a wardrobe malfunction ):

Wow! Thanks for sharing those pictures. Talk about a trip down memory lane. That was one of my favorite pictures in the Sears catalog next to the Mego's of course. I always looked at these in awe as a kid and never owned any of them.

Seeing these pictures and reading this thread now make sme want to start collecting them to. I have a little bit of a start....

Believe it or not just the other day I went into an antique mall and found some of these rascals in a baggie. Talk about dejavu. I will go snap a picture and get it posted up here in a minute or two.

                  Holy Cow!!!!

The Seahawks and The Buccaneers were baby franchises when those figures came out (yeah...I remember a 26 team league and have the sheets, curtains, poster and trash can to prove it!!!). The Oilers have gone bye-bye. What a cooool pic.

                  Are those for sale???

Ok here is the pictures that I just took. I just now took these out of the bag since I bought them. They also came with three packs of Close Encounters cards and some other unknown little figure.

Looks like I got a complete Cardinals Jim Hart and a complete Cowboys Roger Staubach. Yeah I am pretty happy right now. Those are two of my favorite players of that era to boot. Unbelievable!!

And as you will see in evidence exhibit B that I found some "other" goodies to while shopping there.

                          Cool!!!

I never had the foresight to hang on to those things, but my awesome Mom did.

When I came around to wishing I still had that kind of stuff, she said, "Guess what!".

Thanks! I guess you could say luck was really with me that day. What is even more amazing is that there is this thread about it the next day. Or atleast this is the first time I seen the thread anyway. It looked like the thread was recently bumped from the past.

                            Anyway....

The packaged Close Encounter cards and a few loose Mego's was what initially drew my attention as I like to collect MIP trading cards. Then upon close inspection I knew I remembered these guys. Like most I had not idea what they were called. I had actually forgot the name of them until I read this thread. I guess I could have looked in my old Sears catalog if all else failed.

This is so cool! Thanks again for this thread guys and gals!

Looks like you got lucky as well. I bet it was like Christmas all over again. I am glad that your Mom kept those child hood memories. I love stuff and stories like that.
