If you're speaking about Mattel's figures: Scorpio is the highest priced and hardest to find complete and working (he lights up)
Jeff long is the rarest Astronaut
The rarest are the Cipsas with Atomo being very hard to find (yellow suit, blue trim)My Custom Figures

Still have one of my MMM figures although one arm and one leg are a big floppy from those pesky broken wires. Wish I still had all of the rest of it. Had the big space station, the moon crawler, and a few other odds and ends. Best space toy ever!___________________________________

I have a friend in Portland that grew up with this collection and ended up seeking out a the complete set and having his son place with it. At first I thought why didn't he display them but then he told me he wanted his son to experience what he did as a child. So it made sense.
My friend buys rare toys and lets his kids play with them. I can understand that. Might as well enjoy them and use them the way they weren't to be.
He also told me that since in time the plastics and rubber will deteriorate, might as well make the best of it and play with them.
Never new this line until I went to his house and saw it. Pretty damn cool!Comment

The basic Matt Mason figures (White suit w/ black joints) came out different ways. The earliest ones (and rare) were molded in white rubber with black details painted in. They quickly changed to black rubber with white paint. The early helmets had a narrow (1/16") base below the black stripe and the later ones (and much more common) have a wider base (about 3/16"). The "blue dot" can be found, if I remember correctly, on both the white rubber and earliest black rubber figures, JOHNLivin' the American Dream!
