    1977 Azrak Hamway (AHI) Catalog

Another look into the wonderful world of Rack toys and one of it's shining stars Azrak Hamway, who in the 1970s were the kings of fun, inexpensive licensed toys.

1977 was a pretty big year for Azrak Hamway Inc and they had all the hottest licenses including the superheroes from the house of both DC and Marvel, the animated antics and both Micky and Bugs. For the sci fi loving kids, they could choose between the adventures of the Starship Enterprise, Moonbase Alpha or the forever lost Jupiter 2..

Popular sitcoms like M*A*S*H and Welcome Back Kotter also received an usual amount of attention as AHI looked to broaden into school supplies.

AHI has so many cool Batman toys, it's a shame they're so expensive to get or I'd collect 'em all.

I hate hate hate when you post the AHI catalogs!! TIt just reminds me how these toys are so cool and I have so very few. Next to Megos, these rack toys really bring back my childhood. All the relatives knew I was superhero crazy and it was easy for them to grab a rack toy for my birthday or Christmas. Man I love those cheap little things!

I had so many of the super hero items in this particular catalogs. Heck, I still have some that survived through childhood somehow!

I'd love a closer look at that Batman swirly pinball game. The artwork looks to be the same as a sweatshirt I had as a kid.

I noticed the Kotter cars were called "Sweathog Grease Machines". Ironic for Travolta, huh?

When looking at these catalogs I often wonder how much of this stuff actually made it to market. I've seen lots of it for sure, but I've never seen a SWAT parachute figure or the Lost In Space spinner gun in over 20 years in the toy game. Anybody know if these were made?

I love rack toys and AHI made some of the coolest ones. So many fond memories of playing with Batman parachute figures, even though it usually didn't take long for them to wind up broken or stuck in a tree, lol.
