Can you restore the ones with different coloured hands too (i.e. Darkon, Luminos and Shield)? Considering how much work is involved in these, $25 shipped for a repair isn't bad. I'll keep you in mind if I get a good deal on some broken ones.

Yeah, $25 ain't bad but I kind of like to do things on my own. I'm a do-it-your-self-er kind of guy.
What's the chance of molding up some rough joints and selling a set of joints (and possibly hands) to guys who might want to give it the old college try?
I'm very handy and mechanically inclined and have lots of experience building models and such and I get great pleasure out of fixing broken things. My only problem with these is I really don't know what material to use and I've never made molds for anything so I wouldn't mind purchasing a kit rather than having someone do it for me. I have an idea on making a mold for joints but even if I figure that out I still don't know what raw material to use to create the replacements.
As for the hands, obviously reproed originals would be preferred but CAW Grippers or these Zica ones (I'm not familiar with these) are probably a cheaper alternative.

^^ I can sell a "kit" to re-build SuperJoes. Just never thought much about it. The parts I use really aren't that expensive. You have to do some cutting, grinding and drilling. But, like I said before, the hard part is re-attaching the upper legs to the crotch. That is the part that usually involves several curse words. As for matching the hands to The Shield and Darkon, I've ritdyed them to colormatch or died them black. I would HAVE to include a detailed set of instructions. That's a given. Re-building SuperJoes is nothing like re-stringing an old mego.

Sounds good to me. i'd like to give it a shot. An online picture or video tutorial might be better than just an instruction sheet though.

Can you post the site with CAW hands on the SJ figures?

            thanks
let me see if I can find it again.

I got my super joe body apart but i have no idea how to replace the leg joints .

A repair kit would be nice .

I`m also in need of a SJ commander body suit and a pair of boots .

I just found that i don`t have the original lower parts to my super joe`s arms .

I can`t even remember what i did with them ether

Maybe a body swap would be best ?

Any word on getting a kit together with instructions?
A recent thread ( Super Joe MOC - Mego Talk )and search reminded me of this old thread.
                    Is ThatBatmanGuy still around?

did that Batman Guy ever start selling the joint repair kits on these? I am looking to start up on these as they are a really cool line. I have the commander that someone else had restrung well enough to display but he cannot stand on his own as the joints are too loose.
how about a tutorial on the making the neck plug to fit the heads on Zica or Castaway bodies? Did Zica ever proceed with making the adaptor?

I prefer original as well but sometimes it is not cost effective, or possible for my budget. I understand the adaptable neck plus is still a possibility and being looked at so that would be cool to use on a Zica body. I am pretty handy myself and would like to give it a go as far as reparing the bodies but would need someplace to get the repalcement joints. I checked the Superjoe command center link and the infirmary page is offline, according to the site temporarily but it has not been updated since April, so who knows

Send me your email in a pm and I'll show you some pictures of how to repair original super joe elbow and knee joints for about 1.00 per figure.

Are you using the Electrical parts and washers for joints or has someone finally casted them in plastic? Let me know because if not I'm working on having them cast is plastic. Rather than trying to cut the figures joints open wider to accept the width of the washer I sand the washer down and then glue it to the metel piece. I hope to cast it in plastic without the hole, that way I can drill a continious hole all the way though and use a plastic skin tone peg instead of a metel pin. And is anyone selling kung fu grip hands for them yet or still using doc Mego hands?
