I had Sam Cobra and Geronimo. Sam Cobra was very cool! He used to beat the crap out of my Joes. They weren't the heroes they should have been I guess.

Me and my brother had a bunch of 'em when we wuz kids. Over the last 15 years or so, I've bought and sold a skazillion of 'em but have never wanted to keep them for my personal collection. For some reason, they just don't appeal to my tastes anymore. But then again, I don't like the western Megos either. I'm just not a fan of western themed toys......

Boy does this bring back some great memories. A Johnny West was one of
the first toys I can remember receiving. I also had Chief Cherokee, the dark
haired boy (forget his name) and a horse for Johnny. I was never that big on westerns as a little kid but I had a lot of fun with them.

Later when G.I. Joe entered the Adventure Team era my Johnny West became
their boss, finacial backer and the inventor/designer of their equipment. Johnny also served as the liason with the government when the Adventure Team had to under sensitive or secret missions.

I don't know why I never had more stuff from the line. They were certainly
common when I was growing up. They were terrific toys and really held up.

I loved that line. I had Johnny, Custer and Geronimo. In my top 5 toy figure lines. Later on they became "giants" that my megos would fight.

David Lee, thanks for posting a link to that site. I checked it out and figure I will probably order some stuff from them.
No sweat man... Noah and Terri are close personal friends of mine and excellent folks, buy in confidence! They sell a really neat white "color change"
gear set that you can dye to any color you want... they really love MARX and BOTW.
    Tell 'em Dave sent ya

    I still have (somewhere):

    Johnny West
    Jamie West
    Captain Maddox
    Geronimo
    Sam Cobra

    Thunderbolt
    Buckboard Wagon

I loved these figures as a kid, because you could really get in the dirt and play with them. Lost alot of pieces here and there, but I thought the tack for the horses was the coolest.

    They also sell re-pro gear...http://www.marxmanbros.com/index.htm

A real good friend of mine, who uses the same factory we do, makes replicas and kick arse new customs and extensions. They just re-made Jeb Gibson
and made Jesse James from an unproduced prototype

I had a boxed Johnny West with his horse (had the box for years long after Johnny had galloped into the sunset....it contained Christmas decoration).
Also had Sam Cobra (I agree Mike...one of my favorites as well).

Actually I still have Sam Cobra, minus all of his accessories. He actually served as the base for my very first custom figure in the early 90s. But that's since been dismantled and ol' Sam is himself once again, plotting against the Johnny West I picked up on ebay.

For some reason I never remember them associating with my Gabriel Lone Ranger gang...must've been a size issue.

A friend of the family gave me a carry case for Best of the West that I don't think I ever used. In 1985 I traded it for MIB Megos.

    Not one ounce of regret.

I never liked Johnny West himself.

To me he was a sloppy old bow legged cowboy.

He was my least liked figure of all of them all.

I had a Johnny West with no hands and no accessories. He usually hung out with the GI Joes as a casualty.
