They were pretty cool figures, with the real clothes and all (a rarity for mid 1980's action figures) and I think were originally a Japanese toy line. A friend of mine bought most of the line when they were on clearance in the late 80's. He probably still has them stashed away somewhere, I should see if I can get a hold of them.
They were ordered in very low numbers, and sold poorly. I ran across the lines "inventor" several times back in the nineties. Because Spiral Zone failed, he simply refused to consider any toy pitch that revolved around a Mego like theme.
Loved tha show, never found the figures. I have ONE of the accessory packs. The armour fits a Lionrock body, but the figures themselves were about an inch shorter. Always loved the guy WHO DROVE AROUND INSIDE A GIANT GUN!!!!! A giant gun!
I remember DC advertising a comic with art by Carmine Infantino that showed lots of floating children heads with read splotches all over their faces. Weird way to promote a comic based on a toyline!
I have Dutchess dire and her hammer tank.
There a great article on the figures in tomarts magzaine showing all the equipment &
showing how superior the japense figures were over the Tonkas

Ah, so that's what these are. I have a box of about 7 or 8 of these I picked up at an auction some years back. I never knew what they were but after some web searching sure enough they are Spiral Zone figures. Wonder what they sell for. Hmmmm.....
