    Fighting Furies!

    Anybody collect Fighting Furies?

Peg Leg was my first ever action figure, in 1975.
My Dad said: "If you buy this...doll...you'll NEVER get pocket money again!"

    Bought him anyway....

They didn't survive my childhood, they're prone to breaking, but I got Peg Leg and Hook a couple of years back, and just yesterday I finally got another Ghost of Captain Kidd. That was a tough one.
I won one on Ebay two years back, but it "got lost".
After some checking, I found out that ALL international orders from "daniel9486" (or something like it) "got lost".

But now, finally, after 32 years, I have one again.
My original one I bought in the 70s in Dover, UK. I played with him on the ferry across the Channel!
I got this "new" one cheap, but he doesn't have his accessories.
I'll either customize, or patiently hunt for them on the net.

Cross another one from my "Holy Grail List".....

I have a couple. I would like to expand my fighting furies, to include all the pirate and pirate related outfits. I have hook and pegleg. I really want the ghost of capn kidd but I always get outbid.

I had Hook when I was a kid. Never really got back into them as an adult. But that could change at any time.

I still have my Captain Hook (just missing his dagger) but he's seen better days. He can barely....B A R E L Y....stand up on his own. I think he needs a hip replacement or something, LOL! Really wiggly. I've always wondered if this is a common ailment with these figures or if I just really PLAYED with mine? I really can't recall if he was all wiggly like this when new or how long it took him to get that way. I can't imagine they'd design a figure to be like that. Any I've tried to win I've always been outbid on. I don't want to pay too much so that's why. I'd like to get a few more of them someday if I can snag them cheap. I do have a few odds & ends loose outfits and accessories, though.

Mine are from my youth, and I remember them always having really loose joints. I wonder if they could be restrung.

They always get "loose hipped" very quickly.
My original FF fell apart eventually, even though I was a "careful kid".

A couple of years ago, I picked up a boxed Hook at a collectors market for...$8.
Guy had no idea it was collectible.

There are some rare ones in the line, like the Wild West figures with "kung fu grip" hands. I had Kid Cortez, who had a cool bulletproof armour underneath his outfit. Yes, had.

I guess these guys never really "hit it big" in the US, but they were popular in Europe.

I've got several of the boxed outfits, including some spares...

If so, yea I had them

I remember losing the map in my swimming pool and never did find it

I don't remember even seeing these in stores when I was a kid, wonder if they were sold in Canada? The only pirate figure I had back then was a Mego Long John Silver. I would have tried to get some more, but the Mego Pirates seemed to disappear from the store shelves pretty fast. I liked pirates, so if I had ever seen some Fighting Furies, I definitely would have tried to get some of them.

                        Please check your pool, Mike.
                        That map's rare...

I've watched a couple of lots with the Cap'n Kidd and the ship playsets but they always go too high.
They are actually nicely detailed figures. It's a shame the bodies suck.

I'll probably customize Kidd's ragged outfit, and look for a hat and cutlass to complete it.

Is it a rubber band or something that holds the legs together? If so, they could probably be fixed similar to how I've fixed loose hipped Remco 9" monsters.
