Compared to the original 4 (Dracula, Mummy, Frankenstein, and Wolfman), the Phantom and the Creature were sold in much more limited quantities. Add to that the fact that this one is boxed and relatively pristine. This is the first Phantom I have seen come up in a while, but at a starting bid price of $700 - I don't know who has the cash to go after him.Comment

A complete one in a nice box? I could see $700 on that. As Orion mentions, the Phantom and Creature are much more limited, they were a second series that seems to have received much less distribution than the first series of 4 figures did. They don't turn up nearly as often.Comment

I dont know with the US economy being what it is I dont think he will get any bids .if it does sell it will be to a Canadian or European Bidder thats were the cash is now.I personally wont bet on it unless he lowers the staring opening bid / if I would spend $700 it would be for a MIB 1979 Kenner ALIEN .LOLA complete one in a nice box? I dunno, even with the economy the way it is, I still see plenty of people out there throwing big money at rarer items. More common items aren't seeing quite as many bids, but when something rare comes up, there is always someone out there who has the money to spend, even in times like this.
In one toy field that I collect, I very recently saw a few collectors spend a thousand dollars per figure without even blinking, just because the offered items rarely show up for sale.Last edited by cjefferys; Dec 4, '09, 10:45 PM.Comment
