    K Mart Toy Sale 1978

While the newspaper flyer has yet to be replaced in this digital age and I admit I still check the Christmas toys out, it's just not as cool as when I was eight. That's why I thought it would be fun to see the toys on sale at K Mart during this week thrity one years ago.
Lots of familiar faces and forgotten sights in this one including Tonka Trucks, Play Doh, Fisher Price Little People and the World's Greatest Superheroes! Click on any page to visit the 1978 K Mart Toy Flyer and try to remember, this sale expired during the Carter administration...

While some toys really endured. I had one of those Fisher Price music box radios, "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star". And my after school care had the Star Wars PlayDoh mold set. I used to use homemade PlayDoh, let it dry and then let them paint their characters.

My sister bought me that frog puppet for Christmas in 1978. I still have him in a tote along with my other childhood puppets. He was made by Animal Fair.

Sweet I had that "Happy Apple" and the "Radio Music Box" which only played it's a small world. Those toys were indestructable.

$3.38 seems the most expensive I've ever seen these in ads, no?

I've seen price stickers as high 4.59, but never an ad. That may be the highest I've seen. But I do love that glorious color photo.

ALSO... this might be the last year that one of these flyers do not see a prominent position for some sort of electronic toy. '79 might have been spared, but by 1980 I'm pretty sure you would have seen something that required a 9-volt or had to be plugged in.

Actually, I never did either (think i'm too old) ... But most of my nephews who were a few years younger then me had them... and I assumed most people here are their age ...
