I remember that display for sure, and honestly Slime was pretty awesome until it fell on the ground or got stuck in someone's hair. The later version with the worms in the can was a little disturbing haha.

    Cool post!

That brings back some memories of seeing that at our local Big Wheel store.
Was kind of fun, but not really my thing.

And yeah, my grand-daughters loved that stuff when they were little. Used to make it all the time.

From what I remember (a little fuzzy), Sime Worms came next and then Slime with Eyeballs. The slime was different colors but essentially all the same. I also remember a competitor name Yuk! . Same deal (no fancy garbage can, but more of a pail), however, I remember it smelling bad, not the soapy smell of Slime. Anyone recall that?

I'm sure I had Mattel Slime too, but I have more vivid memories of the knock-off slime you could buy in gumball machines. It was more of a brownish, snot-colored slime. It was also much sticker, and many of mine died on my mom's area rugs.

Incidentally, Mattel apparently couldn't use the word "Slime" in the name of the new MOTU Origins "Fright Pit" which is the new, upscaled verison of their classic MOTU Slime Pit. Seems really odd that someone has "Slime" locked down...

            Svengoolie presents The Blob (2).jpg

I never had Slime growing up (carpet). I tried the Target with glitter when I did the Svengoolie presents The Blob I discovered it stuck to the paper and had to throw it away after the photo.
