    Outdated 70s/80s things you miss.

Seashell bathroom sinks. I just think they are really pretty and elegant.
CRT TVs. The image just seemed less harsh and easier on my eyes than modern TVs.
    Pink Kleenex
VHS tapes. I loved collecting my fav cartoons and movies in the 80s and 90s and being able to record stuff off of TV.
    Avocado and orange colored Tupperware
Half-fold board games. Even Winning Moves "retro" and "vintage" board games are now quarter fold. What the hell!?

Glad to see vinyl has made such a comeback. I've read the sales are at mid 1980s levels.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

Definitely ChildWorld and Kresge’s stores for megos and ahi figures and Halloween costumes.
Saturday morning cartoons and live action kids tv shows on 3 different channels.
        (1) hamburger, small fries and small cola for just over a buck at McDonalds.
        Hawaii Five-O (great theme music)
NBA games, the way it was supposed to be played, they actually called traveling.
Matchbox Cars when they actually came in a matchbox.
        Disco…that’s right Disco music.

There are a whole bunch of stores that were popular in the 70s/80s that I miss.

                B. Dalton
                Waldenbooks
                Bergner's
                Kaybee Toys
                Toys R Us
                Kmart
                Children's Palace
                Montgomery Ward

I also miss the holiday wish books stores like Wards and Sears used to do.

I know malls are still with us, but they are NOT what they used to be in the 70s/80s. They were really a beehive of social activity , I think the social media apps have filled whatever the mall used to provide. Also, music, books , arcades and toy stores at the mall. I also remember comic shows at malls when I was aged 10-16 years old. For those who are younger take a look at how the mall is the center of activity in movies like ‘Fast times at Ridgemont high’ to see what I’m talking about.

I truly miss spending a few hours at bookstores. Yeah you can stream books now but just going to a store and looking at that cover artwork and then reading the back cover to see what the story was my favorite "me time".

At least Barnes & Noble is still around for people to do that.

I really miss stores like Kmart, Hills, and Big Wheel.
Corner stores. Every one was different and unique, unlike the Dollar General stores that have taken over.
                        Woodgrain on everything.
Totally agree on cassettes. Much more durable than CDs and easy to transport and store. Digital is fine, but I miss just being able to hit play and not have to scroll through a bunch of menus to play a song.
                        Arcades. Pinball machines.
Video games that were compelling to play, and not just about graphics.

I'm with you on most everything in your post, but I have to disagree about cassettes. Not saying I don't still play an occasional cassette, but often when I play a cassette it'll have a weird muffled effect, or maybe the bulk of the sound will come from only one speaker, or if the tape's starting to go bad, it'll screeeech. Personal preference I know, but I sure like CDs *a lot* more than I ever liked cassettes.

To me, CDs are as easy to transport and store as cassettes were/are, and for my own use, I find them more convenient. I like the way you can just hit 'skip' if you don't like a song on a CD, whereas with a tape you had to go thru the ritual of fast forwarding/rewinding (unless you had a 'high tech' tape player where you could hit ffwd. and it'd stop at the end of the song you were trying to ffwd. over.)

That said, in line with your comment about "wood grain on everything", to this day I still *like* paneling-I've never had a thing against it.

Yes, I liked the drive-in theaters too: We went to those quite often back then. I think there are a couple in the region/area, but of course only open in Summer and it seems like every year the local news will do a report on them, and they really treat them as a novelty. But I like that there's still a couple of them out there still doing it.

Yes, UHF stations were great-We'll probably never see anything like them or their variety of programming again. On a different forum I read, someone compared the present day "over the air sub-channels" as the closest thing we have to UHF channels nowadays-I get where he was coming from with that.
