    Batman's 86th Anniversary Collectible Gallery

Another fun one for 13th Dimension, showcasing Batman figures throughout the decades!

    Some bat-thoughts:

*The more I see those puppet sculpts, the more I like them. I wish they, and the Marvel ones, had been adapted into Mego-scale.. That would have been de rigueur here in the old days, had they not been scarce.

    * Likewise the 12-inch vintage sculpts. I've always had a soft spot for the magnetic version, though now I own a non-magnetic British one.

    * I loved those Chemtoy figurines when I was kid, though I wondered where the villains were. (I was spoiled with Mego's variety.) I made do with parachutist Penguin, whose pose seemed to me then like Mego's art.

*Not usually a MCF 7" DC fan, but this one is pretty nice. Has a Bader B&B vibe.

As always, thanks for sharing The 13 Dimension. Great stuff there, including Batman '66 articles on costuming and props.

Great article! I sure wish someone would repro the Mego Parkdale 12.5-inch figure. I have very good condition Batman and Robin, but I would buy the repros and definitely the Parkdale Superman, which I would love to have an original of too.

So many claim that companies make too many Batmans, but I keep buying them and apparently, so do many others.

Great article. I still don't think the original Kenner SP Batman has been topped.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

Im fairly certain i saw that exact KO batman being sold from a vendor cart in NYC in the early 80s. And there were other off model characters as well. Unfortunately, i was still at that age where it was easy for my dad to usher me along so didn't get a look at them for too long lol.

Thanks to watching Batman '66 My brother and I had lots of Batman & Robin's. We had most of what was shown.

Over the years I have collected a good deal of the Super Jr. That started with that DC Blue Ribbon Digest.

Growing those parachute figures were banned at our house. We got one stuck in a tree and to get it out we through a big rock up and it came down in the back window of our car. Not only were we banned from getting anymore but we got spankings. Never will forget that lesson.

Yikes, the parachute story sounds traumatizing. Worst thing that happened to me like that was my friend throwing a Frisbee that broke my parents' porch light globe.

The Super Jrs. are such an odd thing. DC produced comics that were printed outside of the US, and all we ever got here in comic form was the digest. They had quite a bit of products here, but a lot more in Europe and South and Central America. My wife and I decorated our son's nursery with vintage Super Jrs. wallpaper and foam mounted figural prints I created. So we have a real soft spot for them.
