For those who collect loose and not exactly mint - would you rather display a toy that had a fairly obvious glue repair vs one that had scuffs/scrapes/minor chew marks? Or would you attempt to find a vintage replacement part for whatever may have had damage? Do you consider the damage and wear from actual play a 'patina' of sorts?

I have a small subset in Ape City that celebrates simians who have survived extreme wear, including malformed parts, handing wear, stains, complete loss of paints, and environmental exposed from sun fade to burial. Of course they've been washed and stabilized, but other than making them whole again with other vintage bits, their assorted histories of abuse and imperfections is what I like about them.
They remain! Animism on!

I honestly enjoy a little bit of wear on certain toys. It brings some character to the figure and my imagination goes wild thinking about the life this vintage piece of plastic and cloth has lived.Comment
