    GI Joe Help!

Was wondering if any of the Joe headz around here could help me out. I picked this Joe up today at an estate sale ($30!)--pretty nice shape with box. My question is this---the hat is "made in USA" but fits REAL loose on his head--won't stay on. Was wondering if this hat originally came with this doll. Also, are all vintage Joe dog tags the same? I may look for a dog tag for him on eBay and was wondering if there is a certain variation I need to look for to go along with this particular doll. Advice?

the hat does come with him but it should say Hasbro, the dog tag depends, they all look the same but the early ones should say TM if the box is an early TM one

      yeah, the hat is Hasbro.

I'm not sure what you mean on the dog tags.

The heads shrink slightly over time (and the hats never fit snug to begin with, I don't think), so if the hat says Hasbro, and it's not made in China (like the re-release hats), then it's a real deal. Not rare, but real.

The dog tag will just be one tag on a chain. These are common on eBay. The TM (trademark) reference above refers to the various markings on the dog tag itself. If the figure is an early release (which might be indicated by the dating and markings on the box) then the dog tag should probably have a TM stamped in it, I am pretty sure. But you can likely pick up any tag off eBay and you;ll be fine. They usually got for around $15 each though.

Generally, you got a good deal especially if the uniform is tagged correctly and body is in good shape, and the box has the correct back cover with taped corners on outside of box back and deep green color inside, i think.
