1967 Marx Marvel Statues - factory painted?

Wondering if someone here might know the answer to this, were any of the Marx 1967 Marvel Statues (See Spidey beow) ever released factory painted?

I thought not, but I recently saw a couple of painted examples of Hulk and DareDevil here in Oz that were identical to the painted examples shown in the Marvel Silver Age collectibles mook. They say that there were not factory painted examples issued, but this article says there were.

The examples I saw were so perfect and identical in colour, tones etc to the examples photographed it was just too much of a co-inkidink. Perhaps some of the larger toy stores were issued a painted display set to show what the finished result could be?

    It's a Mystery Charlie Brown.

Yeah they were released Factory painted in the 1970s, I've owned a set. The paint brushes off easily but it's clearly a factory job. They were sold in Sears when I was a kid.

Daredevil's mouth is the only thing painted on him.

Thanks for asking that question I have allways wondered about that. I have seen many great painted versions of them but usually done as a custom paint job. Did these ever come in a package or sold loos ein a box?

A friend of mine told me he got his set out of a "great big bin at Sears", all loose, I bought them from him (and promptly flipped them) when we were teens. He's never forgiven himself for selling them.

Yep, I remember those big wire baskets they used to sell the Marx figures out of too.
