Moonraker was, for me, the nail in the coffin for the Bond movies.
Star Wars rip-off, Jaws becomes a softy and falls in love, and Moore almost needs a zimmer frame.
Sorry, dude....

I liked it it but I was never a hardcore Bond fan to this day they are all ok .after Star Wars every studio company wanted a sci fi hit. United Artist was no different.I watched it 2 weeks ago on tv not badComment

I'm a fan of Moonraker. I don't have any of the MEGOs that were created for the movie, but I thought the movie was really cool. I've often thought about starting that line in my collection

Moonraker was the only Bond movie I saw in theatres when I was a kid. Last month I watched it on Blu-ray, the first time I've seen it in over 20 years, and was surprised to find it still held up pretty well for me (I'm a bigger fan of the Connery Bond films and the Fleming novels). Sure it's silly, but I still found it entertaining and fun. As for the toys, I currently only have a boxed Holly, but plan on eventually getting the rest. Bond himself is easy to find, but along with the European releases, even the US released Drax doesn't seem to turn up for sale too often.Comment

I preferred the Roger Moore flicks as a kid, and this one had the most kid appeal, so I liked it quite a bit. I can't say I'm as big a fan now, preferring Connery's films, and Moore's first two. Mego captured a good Moore likeness, although his head seems a bit big. Maybe him and Mego's 12" Cap are related?!?

I have all the Bond Megos and they are really cool. I didn't know the Deluxe Bond came with the space gun until I got it. It was well worth it, keep looking!sigpic "It's like you're unravelling a big cable-knit sweater that someone keeps knitting and knitting and knitting and knitting and knitting and knitting..."Comment

btw welcome to our community 70's toy fan. i liked moonraker as well. moore was the bond i grew up with. i had all the moonraker mego guys. the hardest part was finding a james bond that had no zombie disease. jaws was pretty cool too. i remember shelling out $500 for him mib! i also like the sideshow release of moonraker james bond figure as well.Last edited by starsky; Nov 10, '09, 1:04 AM.Comment

I love Roger Moore as James Bond. He is by far my favorite of all of them. Probably because he was Bond while I was growing up. Wish I had the Moonraker Megos. Maybe someday.Comment

Sadly the 12 inch MEGO MOONRAKER are like the 12 inch BUCK ROGERS figures both great looking lines but the zombie diease keeps me from collecting them would love to see EMCE redo themComment

The Moonraker Bond figures seem even harder to find without Zombie disease than the Buck Rogers figures. I've had a complete set of Buck Rogers figures with no sign of Zombie and several Bucks that looked great (I've also had my share of Zombie Bucks), but I can't think of ever seeing a Mego Bond without the gray face.Nostalgia just ain’t what it used to be.Comment

zombie heads
Yeah i had to get my zombie head off the figure and i finally replaced with a loose head i found in an old box of parts i had..by luckLife is a wonderful journey..where you step changes your path through it!Comment

I've had a complete set of Buck Rogers figures with no sign of Zombie and several Bucks that looked great (I've also had my share of Zombie Bucks), but I can't think of ever seeing a Mego Bond without the gray face.Actually, the Buck Rogers 12" line is for the most part free of the grey face problem. Only Buck himself suffers from the issue, none of the other figures in the line, and there were most likely two production runs of Buck made, one with the "bad" vinyl and one with the good vinyl, as non-greying Bucks are out there (I have one in my collection that looks perfect
)
On the other hand, I too have never seen a Bond for sale without some amount of greying, same goes for Drax and Jaws. Holly is possible (I have a completely non-grey Holly) for some reason. I'd compare the greying problems of the Moonraker line to that of the Black Hole and Star Trek TMP lines, not the Buck Rogers line.Comment
