Remco Monsters Trading Card

It's been a while since I unveiled a trading card and this is going out of order but what the hell, it's Halloween. Card #29 is the Remco Monsters. Anyone who has read this blog knows I'm terribly fond of the line and I loved this great glow in the dark shot, so it was a no brainer to get these out for October. I'll be doing a contest for these in November.



Speaking of the Remco Monsters, what better time to show off these great Newspaper toy ads which feature them, click on the one above for a larger look.


Clash of the Titans, Mego Pocket Heroes and Universal Monster dolls, total droolage...

$6.87 seems kind of high for these back then, of course if you offered this now I'd fill my garage.

Great card Brian! Frankie looks a lot like Glenn Strange there. I've said it before, but I vividly remember the Remco monster packages staring back at me from high atop a shelf in Dollar General Store. I was tempted by them, but way too much of a weinie to buy them.

I had forgotten about that Dukes of Hazzard costume in the Kiddie City ad. I always thought it was the height of lamness to have the rebel flag on Bo's shirt. I don't see that going over too well nowadays.

Those TRU ads are full of childhood joy. Man, to walk in a store full of all of that again...

I think I'm reading something wrong here. I have this card. Is it not supposed to be out yet? Awesome card, by the way! I had the Dracula, the Frankenstein and the monster maker machine. I always wanted the 3 3/4" monsters (I still want them actually). I just haven't seen them for cheap enough.
