    Monster Squad Merchandise Gallery

No, not the 1987 movie but the original 1976 Saturday Morning Series that really helped my love for Monsters in general.

The show has precious little web presence and I'm honestly surprised how much merchandise I discovered, so I've created a little gallery to showcase it all.

It's all here and there may be a few surprises, everything from proposed (but sadly not released) action figures to Halloween costumes, toy cars puzzles and the board game everybody should be familiar with.

Don't know the show, but from what I read it must've been awesome. Monsters as superheroes with utility belts, how can you not love that?
Brian, the action figures that weren't produced, were they supposed to be 8"?
      That van is killer too

The action figures and van sure would have been cool. And I never knew Julie Newmar was a "Special Guest Villainess".

Is the monster squad van that was produced Hot Wheels size?

Nah there were Evel Knievel Bodies, so more like 5-6"

Is the monster squad van that was produced Hot Wheels size?
Nope it's about twice the size of a Hot Wheel.

Wow! I had the Monster Squad van when I was little. I didn't know about the show, until you started talking about it here, but when I saw that pic, the memory of that van came back to me! I believe it was a pull back friction type van. Is that right Brian? I seem to recall it that way.

Kinda surprised there isn't a lunch box. Seems like a perfect candidate.

                        Hmmmm....

I don't remember this show at all; which is weird 'cos I would have definitely watched. Dunno why; but it really reminds me of "The Drac Pack;" a show I DID watch that nobody else remebers.

Oh, I remember the Drac Pack! Loved that show. I remember watching it, but honestly not much more. I think of the CBS Saturday Morning ad that featured it. It ran in DC comics the year it came out. It struck me as a straighter Groovie Goolies at the time.

Brian, did this show hold up for you as an adult? Can you appreciate it beyond your nostalgia? Just asking, because there are several shows I liked as a kid that I struggle to watch now. And since I have no nostalgia for it, I was wondering if I should take the plunge on the DVD.

I didn't realize that Monster Squad was FINALLY out on DVD. I'm glad to hear it!
Nostalgia just ain’t what it used to be.
