    Halloween Carvel Ice Cream cakes

YouTube - Carvel Ice Cream- Halloween TV ad

Any of our East Coast peeps remember these?

I've had one Carvel ice-cream cake in my life, (6th birthday), and my Dad loved their ice-cream. I always thought it would be cool to have a holiday cake, though.

Even as a kid I knew they cheaped out by making EVERY cake with the exact same mold! LOL!
I remember one of those for a birthday as well. They are doggone expensive, though.
They finally got Carvels out here a few years back but they didn't do well and I can only think of one still in the area.

Yep, it all goes back to "cookie-puss" and "fudgy the whale." Their Santa was the fudgy mold with Santa's hat being the tail from the whale.

I loved their soft cone dipped in the chocolate or strawberry syrup that would harden around it. That was good!
        It's all good!

And they didn't taste that good either!

All ice cream and no cake? Uh, no thanks!

I'd rather have a Baskin-Robbins ice cream cake. Better ice cream, real cake, and lasted for a while even after everyone else had a piece, depending on the size of the cake.

Weird characters be damned, I want a Baskin Robbins!

Yeah, why did they use the same mold it was so lame! Love the cake though, once I hit my early teens, that was my b-day cake of choice! I even had one this year!

I worked At Carvel all through high school and a couple of years into college. I made hundreds of those cakes and probably ate hundreds of them too. I think they are still the best icecream cake around. And all the novelty cakes were not from the same mold, If I remember correctly there were about 4 different ones.

I still remember that delicious chocolaty crumbly stuff at the bottom. That was good.

I'm sure they had more than one mold but everyone knows the commercials where they seem to all be the Fudgy the Whale mold reused incessantly for all sorts of themes. LOL
As a matter of fact, I believe the one I had was actually just a sheet cake form.
