Anyone else remember Star Tech collectibles ?

Was just going through my junk and found this little treasure at the bottom of the box

Back in the day, Star Tech along with a few other Sci Fi places were my main source for collectibles ...

I liked Star Tech best because they had a lot of tech manuals and even sold boot video tapes

In the eighties, I used to buy my stuff from a company that had a Dragon logo.
Can't remember the name. Intergalactic Trading Post???

I paid with a money order, and shipping took about three months.
Man, that seems like the Stone Age now....

Intergalactic was GREAT back in the day ... their only problem was they were pricey compared with everone else ....
One example, they would be selling a Hallmark Enterprise for $400.00 when the rest of the world had it marked at $250.00

      Star Tech was more reasonable.
The only prob with Star Tech is they sometimes had lousy customer service and your order would take forever to come.

I did so many video trades with that guy, he went by FBN video and he really liked "The Starlost" if I gave him two hours of it, he gave me six hours of anything I wanted. I can't bring myself to throw those tapes away.

Loved Star Tech, bought piles of Who merch from it.

Hmmm, interesting. I have never heard of STAR TECH before. I used to get stuff from this catalog:

              Hmmmm....

In the 80's I ordered a LOT of stuff from "Cosmic Connections." They imported Japanese model kits and sold them pretty cheap. (You can see their ads in mid 80's Marvel comics.)

Funny thing; in the early 90's I ended up finding a LOT of these collector mail order places. Can't remember how; but over the course of a year I amassed a ton of catalogues. Then the internets happened.....

I remember both. Intergalactic Trading was the best back then. I remember buying my Rebel Command center from them and getting two sets packed in the box. I spent a lot of money with them and Mile High Comics back then

He used to publish episode guides but his editorial style turned me right off, he dismissed Ultraman as complete trash. If you're publishing a reference like that, best not to include an item if you're so biased against it.

I just remembered the owner's name, Bill Anchors, he was always really good to me. The Star Tech experience made me a mail order junky.

Episode guides ... yea, that's it.

I think they might have published the big Supermarionation book I used to own.
It was really nice and thick with a lot of pictures.

I bought this Land of the Giants book from Star Tech years ago...(the book in the link is actually mine - I gave a scan to the guy at uncleodies for his archives)

Wound up selling it on ebay for 4 times what I paid.

                        I dunno about that ...

Intergalactic was good for stuff like new paper products, patches and newer crap, but for older collectibles and toys they were one of the most expensive places out there.
