I used to love pogo sticks back in the day.

Me and my buddies used to make a game out of them ...
We'd draw a track to follow on a huge dirt parking lot with plenty of stuff to avoid.
It basically was an obstacle course with plenty of "dangers".
First guy to make it to the end wins --- watch out though -- bumping your buddies off their sticks is totally legal

Never had a pogo stick as a kid, but I bet I would've like it, especially if it looked this cool

That bust looks like it would break if you fell over or off it and it hit the ground.

He needed the money to pay for Aunt May's latest operation! He'd sell his soul for that woman! Oh wait...he did!

That pogo stick is actually not suited to that kid in the picture.

The handles should be around waste level so the kid can lean his centre of gravity over the stick.

The Spider-Man head also interferes with this.

I know i'm being picky, but I do consider myself a pogo eggspert

Mike the breadth of your knowledge continues to astound!

You're so right about that kid being all wrong for that stick, how many bit through their tongues after smashing chins on Spidey's noggin on a downward bounce one wonders...

                Cool item B.

I could never do that. To get started you have to jump on, and I always tried to step on.

I trick for the beginner is to sit on a high stool (like a bar stool), put both feet on it while still sitting, then just push yourself up with one hand ... use the other hand to hold the stool to balance yourself until you're ready to give it a go.

Practice jumping a little before you let go.

For stopping, just jump off ...

I had a Superman version pogo stick. I was never very good at it, but it looked neat.

I think the kid was supposed to fall and break the thing.
Then parents had to buy a new one.

A pogo stick, not a kid.....

I could never stand that squeaky springy noise those things made. Always sounded like they were about to break.
