        McDonaldland

I really miss Ronald and all the gang. Now, McDonalds has the Im Lovin It Hip Hop thing going on, which I despize, but hey, its not the 70's or 80's anymore, so..But I still hate it.

Holy hannah, where did you grow up? Or maybe your parents had the sense my mother did not and kept you away from the red and yellow habit that formed in most of us by the age of 5.
          I'm in the same boat.
Never ate at McDonnalds until sometime in the early 80's.
That is when they finally built one in my town.
I was in high school by then.

I grew up on Dairy Queen. Which I still love to this day.
And before they closed we also had a Red Barn.

Same here. I've wanted these since I was a kid, and I have a couple of 'em MOC now. I did get to play with them when I was young because my best friend and his older brother had the whole set. I loved the characters. Somehow instead I got a giant stuffed Burger King doll, don't even remember how and when I got that.

The first time I found out about these figures ever existing is when I started collecting back in the 80's ...

I guess they weren't distribituted well in my area.

Actually, it's not even the 90s anymore...and pretty soon, it won't even be the 2000s anymore. I have to keep reminding myself of that. Pretty soon, there's going to be a Plaid Stallions type of site for the stuff we were wearing in the 90s. How's THAT for a wake up call!

Ah jeez...Didn't the 90's just happen last year? You are SO RIGHT. Time is just flying by. I mean, kids that were born when I graduated highschool are 27 years old now. How's that for a mind bender?

Does anybody have any info on variations of the Remco McDonaldland characters?

I have a few different types. There is a softer head version that has a flesh colored action lever thingy, and a version with a much harder and smaller head that uses a white controller to move the head around.

These variations are on more than one character, so I would assume there was a production change along the line. I am thinking the softer heads were first. The knob tends to be more difficult to work. The white knob/harder head versions are a lot smoother with the head nodding action.

Just wondering if anyone paid attention to differences in this line.

                    thanks

As a Vintage Toy Dealer I have had all these pieces at one time or another, just never at the same time. They're getting a lot harder to find complete. I think I have a Hamburgler figure, missing his hat. They are GREAT!

Does anybody remember all the McDonalds Glasses with these characters that they gave away in the 70's? I love those & drink out of them now.

These are classics. I just picked up the first wave of Huckleberry's new figures, minus Grimace. who I still had from my childhood.

I love these figures and have them all except for the Pirate. The playset is one of the best put out in the 70s.
