    1980 Aladin Lunchbox Catalog

Few things say "Back to School" more than a shiny new lunch box, especially one from Aladin who made really striking items over the decades.

This catalog is the best of what the fall of 1980 had to offer, classic monsters, oodles of Superheroes, Good Robots, Bad Robots, Muppets and Men from the 25th Century!

Aladdin's killer box art made King Sealey's boxes look like crap in comparison...

            Yea Tim

Not anymore, but at one time I had over 75 boxes ... mostly from the 50's, 60's and early 70's.

That's the first time I've ever seen the 'Disco' lunchbox!

This is right up my alley, I've been on a big lunchbox collecting kick for a while now.

That Superman box as well as the Hulk box were favorites when I was a kid.

I sorta like that cyclist and disco ones now, I want 'em!

Oh, this is bringing back memories! My sister had both the Strawberry Shortcake (metal) and the Holly Hobbie (cloth) one at one time. I remember a friend with the Marvel Super Heroes.

I remember having to choose between the Superman movie lunchbox pictured here, and Alladin's Super Friends lunch box (not pictured). I reasoned the SF box had more characters. It wasn't until well into adulthood, while staring at the box I still had, that it was marketed for GIRLS!!! It has pink trim and the female characters are more prominent! Ugh!!!

I remember seeing the Hulk lunch box, but the Marvel one haunts me til this day. I was walking down an alleyway near my neighborhood, and I passed by this lunch box just lying in this kid's backyard, with no one around. It was just sitting there, near the edge of the alley. I seriously thought of taking it. But I reasoned that Captain America would not approve. Much like Spider-Man, who in his early issues, actually contemplated a life of crime, I turned away from the dark side. It's the only time I ever considered stealing anything.

I only just recently acquired a Marvel superheroes lunch box, which I've wanted since I was young. I knew kids who had it and I always loved it! Recently I found some old books from my childhood, some school books even, and saw that I'd done some crude drawings in the back pages, and one of them was clearly me trying to draw Spidey, Cap, and Thor in the same poses on the front of that lunchbox! Haha. I'm pretty happy to finally have it in my collection.

Now I really want that Superman lunchbox!

Did they ever make a Sam Jones/Flash Gordon movie lunchbox?

They did make a 70's plastic dome lunch box based on the Flash Gordon cartoon (similar in style to the Christopher Reeve Superman-2 box), but they never made one based on the Jones movie.
