A rare figure from the early 90's

    Invisible woman

Anyone remember this gal. When she came out she became SUPER rare because the process of her color change was expensive and she was discontinued in favor of the catapult very common version. I remember in about 93" seeing a few of these at shows for $150 + and always wanting one. A few months ago I found her on ebay and bid $9.99 and won! She is mine, all mine now! I bought a second for $15 and think they are still very rare, just not much of a demand. Anyway, here she is for all to see.

        Cool grab.

        I miss collecting that line!

Yep, I've got the catapult very common version. I picked it up at the time because I heard how rare the other one was and didn't know this one wasn't the valuable one. I think it was right around the time they released this one. I've got her, Torch and Deathlok left from when I was collecting those guys. Sold or traded the rest over the years. Anyway, here's a pic of the common one for anyone who's interested in seeing the difference:
Nostalgia just ain’t what it used to be.

torch and deathlok were actually decent looking figures.

This was when Toy Biz was finally getting some good sculpts, but Sue still had a peanut head.

Oddly enough, I passed up the FF animated series all-clear Invisible Woman for $2 MOC at a Peddler's Mall yesterday. As I recall, she was a bit hard to find too.

She is a really nice early Toybiz figure. I got one at Walmart when they first came out. Toybiz was really coming into their own sculpting wise at the time. But color change Invisble Woman was one of those artifically rare 90s figures when scalping really started to plague the hobby. Fighting people that literally spent 24-7 at TRU and Wallyworld made a lot of figures "rare." People can't give away those "rare" Spawn, Toybiz, Playmates Trek and POTF figures now.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

Wasn't the color change version predated by a repainted spiderwoman as the invisible woman?

That was a later figure from the 90s FF cartoon line. Johnny and Sue weren't ready when the first figure shipped, so they used repainted Spider-Woman molds for Sue and Silver Surfer for Johnny.

Gosh, I spent faaaar too much time hunting around for that color-change IW, when I should've been seeking out more Megos instead Never did get my hands on one, either.

I still have most of my Toy Biz Marvel Superheroes. I have to admit I really enjoyed collecting them at the time, and while I know they're not worth much to most people these days, I'm still pretty fond of them. I'd like to get that Invisible Woman someday, I just kinda forgot about her!
