Oh how the unlicensed Gorilla stuff just came pouring out of everywhere in 1977. I'm pretty sure I didn't own one piece of licensed Kong Merchandise (most of which was made by Mego) but had plenty of this generic stuff.

Those beer can radios are another thing that children today will never know of...

Aah...the 70's propensity to turn everything into a radio.
Not just any radio...an AM ONLY radio. Forget that newfangled FM; it'll never last!

Yeah, I can't see kids walking down the street with a Coors radio. And if Smokey and the Bandit taught me anything, it's that carrying Coors across state lines is boot-legging, so you better not take that sucker on the family car trip!!!

My Life in AM
A short play about life with my Batman radio in the 70's

(((Open over black to the sounds of static mixing with brief hits of music as someone scans the dial of an AM radio. Fade up to shot of young kid with dirty brown hair cut the same length all the way around. He's wearing blue suede sneakers with white stripes, a t-shirt with a large number "12", gym shorts with white piping and tube socks pulled to just below his knees. He stops as he hits the Bay City Rollers fading in and out)))

Boy: Cool-amundo!

(((The boy starts to stride forward, pacing his steps with the spelling of "Saturday." After a few yards, the radio starts to lose reception more than receive it until its pretty much gone.)))

Boy: Aww, crap.

(((Fade to black while maintaining the sounds of the AM dial being searched once again.)))
