I wish they still tasted like they did when I was a kid. They changed something. Made them more "Ralston-y" or "Cap'n Crunch-y" in texture? Seems to me they were more like a Cheerio texture back then? Also I miss the teeny little marshmallows.

Dont recall that promotion hitting Canada. I'm sure I would have had them otherwise...My Sister loved those rotten Monster cereals. I was a Cap'n Crunch and Corn Pops man at the time!

I don't think the cereal changed...your tastes did.

I remember those cards, I think I might still have some somewhere

Well i know they changed the shape of the marshmallows and then the shape of the cereal itself later. I could very well be wrong but I swear I remember what this tasted like as a kid and when I got it again as an adult the texture was all wrong. Seemed to me it was more of an oaty Cheerios type of piece then they made it more of a Captain Crunch(original yellow square brand) type of piece.
Whatever, I still like Frankenberry even if it isn't the same.

I always wonder about that. I agree that the monster cereals do not taste the same, neither do the Gorton fish sticks ( possibly loaded with mercury today though) But, did my taste change that much, or did they change things?

                I agree.
Was just talking about this with my daughter last week.
The monster cereals were much better when the cereal portion was more like alphabits.

Just like Trix was much better when it had the consistency of Coco Puffs.

I had a couple of those cards but I think they were on other cereals besides the Monsters. Notice that the Decker photo is flipped.

That's EXACTLY what I mean! I forgot about TRix. I'm sure there's others too.
Yeah, I guess Alpha-bits would be a good description too.
On a side note: I bought some Alpha-Bits a few weeks ago figuring my kids would gobble them down and they ate the Rice Krispies instead. LOL

I was just thinking about Trix. I used to love them when they were little balls of sugar instead of those shapes.

It's where we learned discrimination as kids.

Trix were for kids (Not Rabbits!)
