    Dug These Out

I recently Dug these Out. These were Mcdonald's Playmobil Happy Meal Toys that were released in 1982. They were actually recalled because of small Parts. I thought I had a whole set of Loose Incomplete, and a whole set of MIP ....but I seem to be missing the MIP Indian. Hmmm.... I wish I could find stuff sometimes. Anyways enjoy....

I had totally forgotten about that release of those figures. I think I still have one or two of the Sheriff.
Nostalgia just ain’t what it used to be.

I really do love the early 80's stuff that was released by Schaper. I am not too keen on the newer playmobil stuff as it is too detailed for my taste on these types of figures. I tend to love these ones because I must have had a lot of these as a kid , and I have fond memories of these five.

So did I actually Until I was digging through storage tubs and saw them. I am trying to get photo's of everything and figured let me get these now. I can't believe I forgot these because I remember getting these in 1982 , and the Happy Meal boxes having punch outs to make things like a Teppee, and Sheriff's Jail , and Horse Stall.....I think the boxes did others too.

I have/had a bunch of these too. I actually gave them all to my son a few years ago when he started getting into playmobile. Unfortunately it did not last and now they are flying all over the house

Yeah that tends to happen. I gave my son some Batman Forever figures , and well just about the same happened.

I love Playmobil and collect the Kenbrite Australian issued stuff of the late 70's, as well as boxed stuff from 1974 - 1982, molded hand figures only.

The baggied ones shown above were some of the last figures released with hands that were molded as part of the arm, from '82 on they are articulated.

The collector's bible for Playmobil is Axel Hennel's Playmobil Collector, which recently went into a third edition. This new edition features an expended foreign release section including Marx Toys and Schaper, as well as Kenbrite Aussie stuff, some of which are from my collection. There's also a limited edition with a special collector's figure available at the moment.

I've blogged about them a few times, but not enough frankly.

                    Cheers!
