    1977 Lili Ledy Toy Catalog

Lili Ledy was Mexico's premiere toy manufacturer and because of trade restrictions, all toys they sold had to be manufactured in Mexico. So many of the popular US lines were licensed and then produced by Lili Ledy resulting in wonderful variations that toy collectors hunt for to this day.

1977 was a killer year with Bionic People, G.I. Joe and Mego Superheroes for everyone. Many thanks to Steve F. for these incredible scans...

Amazingly cool scans! Is it just me or do the 1977 Super Heroes look like the Mego versions and NOT the Lily Ledy versions? Obviously Robin is in his Mego costume, but from what I can tell, it's the Mego sculpts for all of the heads and the Mego style costumes (which look very different from the 1975 Lily Ledy cover pic). There may have never been a Lily Ledy Joker.
Nostalgia just ain’t what it used to be.

Yeah, unfortunately they just used pics of the Mego versions for this catalog. Too bad, seeing the Ledy versions of all these guys in a catalog would have been awesome.

You say Ledy, I come runnin'!

I just told me son, "if you want me to come really quickly, just yell out 'MEGO!!!'"

I was thinking yesterday that we've never had an interview from anyone at Lily Ledy. I wonder if any of those folks could be tracked down.

It would probably be something short and sweet. "We pay the money. Mego gives the OK".

That's what I got from Neal Kublan, he worked out a deal and never thought about it again...

Super cool! But one question I've wondered about for years: How do you pronounce "Lili Ledy"? Is it "Lil-E Led-E?

Decide for yourself, Chris. It's at the end of this Lily Ledy Star Wars commercial.

I've always pronounced it Lily Lady. But then again I've always pronounced MEGO as LEGO with an M....
