as a side bar here's richard andersons website http://www.bionik.com . He use to sign for free but now charges 20.00 for photos. Lee Majors isn't signing currently it looks like. I got him on my doll shirt a few years ago.

Holy Jesus...that gigantic SMDM collection is something else, lol.

I'm not much into the SMDM line now (although I woudn't mind picking up a boxed Steve Austin).

But as a kid, I don't know, for some reason, I liked the Kenner SMDM line better than Megos, go figure.

Yes, that was something I wanted to do for a long time... just to see what Steve would look like with 2 eyes. Not too bad.

I remember that, in that time I thought that was the best FX ever for a toy... a long time ago
But I can't have fun with that anymore, my Steve doll is MIB (well it was when I get it now it's New in box) but the rubber is dry and would crack if I try to roll it. I wonder if there's something to do to fix that, I mean can I put some "anti-wrinkle" cream on it to fight the aging process like humans do?

Maskatron wasn't present when I shot my dolls... ok I was just lazy it is stocked in a box in the back of my shelves.
I made many photos showing how the dolls were "happy" to meet again, but it made me realise how old these toys are. I mean there are so few articulations, it's almost impossible to have cool poses. That was really ... how do you american people say that ... a pain (?) to shoot them.
Can post some pics if you want.

Seriously though, this is a good question- if someone could figure out how to re-manufacture rubber skins for Steve and Jamie, it would really bring a lot of these figures back to life.

I do molding and casting with various materials, and have been meaning to start experimenting with this- it would probably be a very expensive trail and error process though.

Some years ago I used liquid latex to cover a plastic skull, trying to make a zombie thingy.
When dried the latex shows it's natural color, close to brown/yellow but it can be painted or tinted when liquid. I have always wondered what would be the result if I just dip a doll arm in it, would I get something similar to Steve rubber skin???
Liquid latex is inexpensive and sold in small pot, maybe that could be the start of something?

I loved six million dollar man; both the show and the toys, back in the 70's.
I hadn't seen it in like 20 years when they started re-running it on the Sci-Fi channel back around 1998. It was a bit less exciting than I remembered it but was still fun to see again. Remember the later episodes when Steve had a porn-stache? LOL!!
I had Steve, the one with the red suit & engine block. I had the rocket/transport repair station. I had the command center(?), that blow-up headquarters. I had Maskatron, which I always thought was the coolest toy. I had the crystal backpack radio, which really did work, although not that great, lol. I think that's all I had. I never got Oscar or the OSI headquarters or Jaime. Never got any outfits or extra limbs or any other SMDM Steve figures. I always took care of my toys and if I hadn't been forced to move across country and give my stuff away in 1979, I would still have all those things.
I have been scanning ebay and seeing what is out there and what they are going for but many of them are incomplete or really junk (well-played with) and missing parts. Plus I want one with intact skin and bionic chips. There are a LOT of SMDM toys out there though so I think patience and luck is the key to getting a good deal.
Did anyone ever wonder why his arm didn't just rip out of the socket when he went to lift something heavy? LOL. The rest of his body was normal.
