The one I often heard was that KISS stood for:

      Knights
      In
      Satan's
      Service

Gene Simmons always insisted it stood for:

        Keep
        It
        Simple
        Stupid

The cow's tongue rumor was down here too.

STAR WARS TOYS: This one doesn't sound like a big deal now, but there was a rumor that there was a Millennium Falcon toy before there actually was one. I think it was because of another space ship that kids thought was supposed to be the Millennium Falcon even though it looked nothing like it. Now that there have been numerous Millennium Falcon toys, the rumor doesn't sound like much, but at the time I think we were all going crazy wanting one even though it didn't exist yet!

It seems like there were also rumors about special mail-in offer Star Wars figures that didn't really exist also. I can't remember who they were supposed to be, but I do remember really wanting them!
Nostalgia just ain’t what it used to be.

"Paul is Dead" seemed to captivate everyone for years.

I had always heard: Kids in Satan's Service which made it more scandalous because it brought young ones into the picture. I remember there was a pizza place that had the KISS pinball game there in the early 80's. My friend could always seem to play it for a free game. I remember thinking back then "I wonder if people will think that I support satan if see me play this?" lol
                It's all good!
