From the wayback machine I present......

How cool would it be to walk into a 7-11 and see this promotion running again?
There's just something about a super hero cup that makes a slurpee taste better!

They are great. I still have mine paked away somewhere. At the time the coolest thing was getting a cup with somebody I hadnt heard of yet (I was just a wee fellar at the time). Guys like Hourman and Starman.

The cups had a drawing of the character lifted right from the comics on one side, and a brief origin of the character on the back.

I do remember the Batman cup I have has a Neal Adams Batman on it though..not the Golden age one pictured here....Wonder how many other characters had variant cups?

As cool as the linticular cups are for the contemporary Slurpee movie promos, they will never have the charm of the old-school cups from the seventies based on the comic art.

Imagine being a kid and having to settle for either an Alfred or a Jim Gordon cup.

Yeah, I know that if I went back in time to that store all they'd have is a stack of Martha Kents.

                  Oh man I remember those.
Wasnt there a Marvel issue of these as well? I can swear I had a Thor cup.
These were around what ? 74-75 right in there wasnt it. And you had to buy a Slurpee to get them didnt you?
Man I wish they still did stuff like this, the 70s ruled didnt they?

Those are cool. Never knew they made so many and so many lesser characters that you'd never think would be used.
Be a collector's nightmare to try to collect that whole series, I'll bet.

Most of the artwork was from the sixties and fifties, but the cups came out around 73 or 74...at least in Canada. I believe the marvel cups came out later--76-77. This was a theme at the time, I remember there being a series of NFL player cups out at the same time as the DC cups, and am still crushed that the DC run was ended and replaced by Baseball players.

I think the only bad thing about the cups was you were at the mercy of the person behind the till regarding who you got. I begged and pleaded for a Joker cup several times, but never got one. In those days you ordered your Slurpee at the till, and then the cashier would get the slurpee for you....They did that until the mid seventies as I recall.

Well I definatly remember having a Batman cup, and was there batgirl or Catwoman?
Remember the Kiss cups , I think maybe Majig Market or 7 Eleven had them.
Boy I miss stuff like this.

Why oh why doesn´t Slurpee MAKE THOSE CUPS AGAIN? Everything is reproed nowadays! Why not these?

Oh and by the way...There are thousands of 7-11´s here in Mexico but you know what? NOT ONE has a slurpee machine!!!!!! That is like Subway not having any meat at their stores....You HAVE to have a slurpee machine if you own a 7-11 for crying out loud!
